ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE NATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR APEC 2027

On the afternoon of July 28, 2025, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presided over the ceremony announcing the establishment of the National Committee for APEC 2027, officially launching Vietnam’s journey to host one of the most significant and large-scale international events in the Asia-Pacific region.

A Historic Milestone Begins

The APEC 2027 National Committee is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and consists of five specialized subcommittees:

- Subcommittee on Content
- Subcommittee on Logistics & Infrastructure
- Subcommittee on Security & Health
- Subcommittee on Media & Culture
- Subcommittee on Protocol

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized Vietnam’s highest determination to organize APEC 2027 successfully and effectively. This is not only a continuation of past experiences in 2006 and 2017 but also a significant leap forward in terms of quality and impact.

The event is expected to open up new opportunities for international cooperation, trade promotion, investment attraction, technology transfer, and enhancing the nation’s global competitiveness.

As part of the national strategy for APEC 2027, Phu Quoc – the Pearl Island of Vietnam – has been selected as one of the key locations to host high-level meetings, policy dialogues, and cultural exchange activities under the APEC framework.

- Expansion of Phu Quoc International Airport
- Construction of a new international-standard convention center
- Upgrades to transportation networks, utilities, telecommunications, environment, and healthcare systems
